The Fireworks Bingo Fest will run July 1-31. It focuses on fireworks, their composition, shows featuring them, and associated summer activities and motifs. While this fest is inspired by explosives for entertainment, many of these prompts also work well for more aggressive applications -- especially if you have a fandom like pirates, wild west, space marines, spyjinks, or cartoon physics where explosions appear often. ("Welcome to my world, lady!") Visit the Meet and Greet to squee about your love of fireworks. To diversify options, I've done several things...
1) Prompts are divided into multiple groups. Colors is a short list of common and uncommon hues seen in fireworks shows. Chemicals & Components is a short list of compounds and materials used (past or present) to make entertaining explosives. Types of Fireworks is a medium list of generic terms used to describe effects. Small & Novelty Fireworks Products is a medium list of little stuff both generic and specific product names. Large Fireworks Products is a long list mostly of specific product names. Events & Associated Motifs is a long list of activities and concepts connected with fireworks and their summer shows. Bear in mind that the product names are diverse and often hilarious, offering very wide inspiration for you to use as creatively as you wish.

Note that many fireworks events fill early July, so aside from playing creative bingo where you make stuff, you could also play regular bingo based on things you see. It's something to do if you get stuck in traffic or get bored waiting for the show to start.
2) A public card is offered in each current category, with various sizes, in hopes of making it easier to blackout. A 5x5 card mixes everything together for variety.
Feel free to mix and match the prompts, though, if you want a more diverse card. You can make a standard 5x5 or whatever you want. Creative interpretation is encouraged, and you don't have to stick to a category just because you're using its prompts. Sometimes it's fun to make entertaining things violent or violent things safe.
3) Challenges! These are prompts that make the bingo card more exciting. You can add them to any category, or skip them, as you choose. They do let you claim multiple fills from one work.
=Multiple Explosions= combine scenes about 2+ adjacent prompts,
=Maximum Load= double the fill size of adjacent prompt,
=Ladder to Heaven= write adjacent prompt based on deceased character,
=Earplugs= turn adjacent noisy prompt quiet,
=Short Fuse= turn adjacent safe prompt violent,
4) In addition to the standard bingo patterns of line, blackout, etc. there are others especially suited to this holiday: 4, F, J, Diamond (several versions) Four Corners (large or small), Ladder (to heaven), Picnic Table, and these sets of shapes:

Summer

Date: 2023-07-02 05:56 pm (UTC)Here we lost power for a whole day and night earlier this week. Violent storms swept over the area, taking out 7 substations in our collective alone, I don't know how much elsewhere. Branches down everywhere, one silo dented in with grain spilling out the bottom. Fortunately our yard only had a few branches down, but some of those need to be divided before I can haul them away.

Date: 2023-07-02 06:34 pm (UTC)I liked mixing and matching prompts on the bingo card. That's aways fun.
I knew your power was out, but I didn't realize just how bad you weather had been. That's awful. I'm glad you guys are okay. I'm glad Dad put in a generator ions ago. That's come in handy. The I get moved whenever that is I really want to install one if there isn't one. It's one of the few things that I like in this house. I still have to get moved one of these day.
We started with pouring and lightening, etc. And we've switched to dry as a bone and hot like you wouldn't believe. It's been 100ish with heat index. Misery.
